Colossians  3:23 NIV  - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,

Honest hard work- this is something God seeks from all of us. God's words tell us that working hard, but with faith in mind, can lead to the great things he has planned for us. I asked Mr Tim Cunningham, who has been a successful Christian manager for over 20 years to share some advice on how to succeed in the work place. He has given nine  (9) principles that he has learned over the years, and has decided to bless "" faithful viewers with these principles.

Hello, My name is Tim Cunningham and I have been a friend of Miss Clara’s dating back several years now. We became acquainted with one another through our employer. Being Clara’s manager, I was able to get to know Clara over the years and learned what a wonderful person she was and what an incredible role model she was for our younger generation. As well as her love for God. We would talk on occasion on how some of the most important principles were lacking in today’s younger generation. I retired from my job as a manager working with hundreds of people for over 20 years this past year. I made a promise to Miss Clara that I would share some key principles that has helped me in my success over the years that we both hope will help young men and women of today. To succeed in life you have to have motivation, passion, discipline and guidance. You have to find that inner strength to stay focused and not give up, not be quitter no matter how tired you are, and no matter how many times that little voice is telling you to give up. One of my favorite quotes, “ ability can get you to the top but it takes strength and character to keep you there.” The key to being successful is also understanding and being able to execute the key principles of communication.  Below are the nine(9) key principles to remember and live by not only at work but in your every day life:

1. Don’t complain, criticize, or condemn when communicating to others. 2.  Arouse in the other person who is eager and wants to do something. 3. Give honest ,sincere appreciation to others without using flattery. 4. Become genuinely interested in the other person. 5. It's important to remember names, and making the other person feel important. Also, finding out what is important to them. 6. Being a good listener is key and being a good communicator. Ask questions that the other person would be interested in answering. Be interested! Engage them to talk about themselves and their accomplishments. Don’t listen to respond,  but listen to understand . 7. Avoid arguments; No One Wins. 8. Being sympathetic to the other person's ideas and desires is also key and being a good communicator. 9. Appeal to the nobler motives.

What I have documented above is nothing new, and most could be looked at as commonsense. Some of the most successful people in history have used the same principles in their daily lives. I challenge everyone reading this to incorporate these principles in their every day work life and personal life and I guarantee you will see a change for the better. God bless and good day.
